Custom Club Regripping

Club Regripping Services

At Primus Golf Academy, we understand the importance of a properly selected and professionally installed golf club grip. It is for this reason that we offer full club regripping services at our facility.

The Importance of Your Grip

Choosing a golf grip is not merely a cosmetic choice. In addition to finding a comfortable fit, having proper golf club grips plays a very important role in how you makes contact with the ball. It can also play a significant role in the flight of the ball. When selecting your grip, there are three important factors to consider:

Grip Material

There are mainly two types of golf grips - soft and hard. The hard grips will have cord weaved throughout the grip in a number of different styles. Soft grips will come with very little or no cord. Different material compounds and surface patterns allow us to offer a variety of feels in our grip line. Our technicians will help you customize your clubs with the feel and performance characteristics your game needs for added confidence in every shot.

Grip Size

Grip sizes vary from small to large. Choosing the right size grip is imperative for fade and slice correction. Thus, whatever your weaknesses are, make sure you have the proper golf club grip size or it will work against you. Incorrect grip size will also lead to unwanted wear and tear on your golf gloves.

Grip Weight

In addition to material and size, the weight of your grip can have a significant impact on the swing weight of your club. While the typical grip is around 50 grams in weight, grip weights can range from as little as 20 grams to as heavy as 75 grams. Our instructors and club technicians can help you select the weight that is right for you.

Why Regrip?

Most golfers don't realize that grips are relatively simple to change and the right grip can have an enormous impact on their ability to shoot lower scores. Golfers typically regrip for one of three reasons:
  1. To fit their grips to their particular hand size
  2. To achieve the desired feel for their playing preference and climate conditions
  3. To simply replace their favorite grips that have become worn
Worn grips simply do not give you the best opportunity to shoot lower scores. Grips that are worn will slip, which requires more hand pressure and ultimately creates forearm fatigue and additional strokes. Serious golfers should regrip at least once a year.
